ARK Kibble Chart & Recipes

Six tiers, six recipes, zero guesswork. Each tier maps to an egg size, and every creature prefers exactly one tier (the tier above also works at full value - anything else is worse than raw prime).

The Homestead kibble system in one paragraph

Since the Homestead update (v285.106) kibble no longer means 50+ species-specific recipes: there are six quality tiers tied to egg sizes. A creature eats its preferred tier at full affinity, the tier above at full affinity too, and every other tier at a miserable 16 affinity per piece - so a mismatched kibble is worse than raw prime meat. The fastest farm loop is usually: keep a cheap egg layer of the size you need (dodos for Basic, raptors for Small, stegos/ankys for Medium, argies/carnos for Large, rexes for Extra Large), cook in a grid of cooking pots or one Industrial Cooker, and always cook with the exact quantities above - one batch yields exactly one kibble.

Kibble FAQ

Which kibble should I use?

Always the tier the creature prefers - it gives full taming affinity (400 per piece). The tier above also works at full value, anything below or unrelated drops to 16 affinity per piece (worse than raw prime meat). Pick the creature in the reverse lookup below to see its tier.

How do I cook kibble?

Put the egg and ingredients into a Cooking Pot or Industrial Cooker with water (a waterskin/jar/cante at least 25% full, or irrigation on the Industrial Cooker) and fuel. One batch cooks in 30 seconds and yields one kibble. Fertilized eggs work too.

Do fertilized or larger eggs make better kibble?

No - any egg of the right size tier gives the same kibble. A dodo egg and a vulture egg both make Basic Kibble with identical taming power. Only the SIZE class matters (Extra Small → Basic, Small → Simple, Medium → Regular, Large → Superior, Extra Large → Exceptional, Special → Extraordinary).
